Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed that receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will be in the lineup for Sunday's game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime.
Harrison will have little time to get acquainted with his new teammates after arriving in Houston on Monday. A day earlier, the Texans acquired him and a 2027 sixth-round selection from the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a 2027 second-rounder and a 2027 seventh-rounder.
The trade reunites Harrison with his college quarterback, C.J. Stroud. The pair played together at Ohio State (2021-22), where they both earned All-American recognition.
"I think the team as a whole, it's a great situation for me," Harrison said. "Being with a quarterback that you have rapport with and had success with, in the past is always great too."
Stroud echoed a similar sentiment when asked about the renewed partnership.
"It's nice to have my guy back, and I'm excited to be rolling with him," Stroud said, according to NFL.com's Nick Shook.
The No. 4 pick in the 2024 draft will get a fresh start in Houston after an underwhelming 33-games stint with the Cardinals. The 24-year-old caught 108 passes for 1,578 yards and 13 touchdowns in Arizona.
Harrison declined to go into detail when asked what contributed to his lack of production with the Cardinals.
"I think it's just a combination of everything," Harrison said, per Bien-Aime. "I don't think I can't pinpoint one thing. There's a lot of factors, and I think with any situation, you always want to take accountability for yourself. Those things I'll keep to myself, truthfully."
Harrison met with Texans assistant wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood on Monday to begin studying the playbook ahead of his team debut. Ryans said that the wideout fit in seamlessly during Wednesday's practice.
The addition of Harrison bolsters Houston's receiving room, which is led by Nico Collins, Xavier Hutchinson, and Jaylin Noel. Tank Dell could also be nearing a return to action after suffering a knee injury in Dec. 2024 that caused him to miss the entire 2025 season.
