The Ottawa Senators acquired forward Andre Burakovsky from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round draft pick, the teams announced Friday.

Burakovsky tallied 11 goals and 22 assists for the Blackhawks in 75 games last season.

The 31-year-old is entering the final season of a five-year, $27.5-million contract.

"Andre adds skill and playmaking ability to our forward group," Senators general manager Steve Staios said in a statement. "We are happy to add the pedigree of a two-time Stanley Cup champion."

Burakovsky won his first championship with the Washington Capitals in 2018 and a second with the Colorado Avalanche in 2022.

The left-winger's best campaign came with the Avalanche in 2021-22 when he recorded 22 goals and 39 assists.

Washington selected Burakovsky with the No. 23 overall pick in 2013. He also played three seasons for the Seattle Kraken.
