Several NFL teams are exploring a trade for Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, a source told ESPN's Stephen Holder.
However, the Colts aren't certain to be sellers ahead of the trade deadline, Holder adds.
Taylor is one of several Colts players who could be trade targets after the franchise fired general manager Chris Ballard on Monday following a 2-4 start. Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and guard Quenton Nelson are particularly intriguing candidates, considering their contracts are set to expire after the season.
Taylor, who's rushed for 8,090 yards and 76 touchdowns in his career, has been a staple of Indianapolis' offense since being selected in the second round of the 2020 draft.
The 27-year-old said Thursday that he hasn't "given any thought" to his future or the trade buzz.
"That'd be crazy right now, especially because we've got a great Minnesota Vikings team that we have to go against," Taylor added. "I think it would be a discredit and a disservice to my teammates and this whole organization to think about what could, what should, what may be."
Taylor, who's signed through the 2028 season, has been his usual self this year, racking up 492 yards through six games.
The Colts (2-4) trail the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2) in the AFC South and are set to take on an undefeated Vikings team in Minnesota on Sunday.
The NFL's trade deadline is Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
