New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown told reporters on Wednesday after a joint practice with his former team that he hasn't spoken to Jalen Hurts since being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles.

"No," Brown replied bluntly when asked if he's been in contact with the Eagles quarterback, according to the Boston Herald's Doug Kyed.

Brown later deflected questions regarding the end of his relationship with Hurts.

"Honestly, guys, none of that stuff even matters. ... I think you all should want to report something positive. You know, asking the question is gonna turn negative. So, let's not get into that, and let's keep everything positive, "Brown said. "It's love my way, and just move forward. That's all."

Brown spent four years in Philly after being acquired from the Tennessee Titans in 2022. He and Hurts were close before the relationship appeared to turn sour last season, with the wideout frequently posting cryptic messages on social media about his frustrations with the offense. The Eagles ultimately traded Brown to New England in June for a 2028 first-round pick.

Brown impressed during the Eagles and Patriots' joint practice, hauling in seven catches on seven targets during team drills, according to Kyed.

Philadelphia cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, whose one-on-one rep against Brown went viral, complimented the veteran wideout after the session.

"Looked a little better. Looked a little faster," Mitchell said when asked if Brown is the same wide receiver from last season, according to Fox Sports' Henry McKenna. "Like I said, he's a great receiver."

New England and Philadelphia will have another joint practice Thursday ahead of their preseason contest Saturday.
