Los Angeles Chargers center Tyler Biadasz is out indefinitely after suffering an ACL injury and additional knee damage during practice Tuesday, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Biadasz will meet with doctors to get more clarity on the injuries and determine how long he'll be sidelined, Rapoport and Schefter add.
The injury occurred when San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Sebastian Valdez fell onto Biadasz's leg during 11-on-11 drills at a joint practice.
Rookie Jake Slaughter filled in at center after Biadasz was carted off the field. The second-round pick out of Florida had primarily been taking snaps at left guard during training camp.
Biadasz was projected to be Los Angeles' starting center this season after signing a three-year, $30-million contract in March. The Washington Commanders released him in February, allowing Biadasz to join the Chargers before free agency opened.
The 28-year-old started 16 games for Washington last season, allowing three sacks and 21 pressures in 572 pass-blocking snaps, according to PFF. He spent the first four years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys before joining the Commanders in 2024.
Biadasz has started 84 games since entering the league as a fourth-round pick out of Wisconsin.
