Texas quarterback Arch Manning is hopeful his second crack at Ohio State will be more successful than his first after the Buckeyes kept him in check in the Longhorns' opener last season.
"Not a lot of good memories a year ago," Manning admitted Monday, according to ESPN's Dave Wilson. "Hoping to have a good game this year."
Texas faces Ohio State this Saturday. Manning said he doesn't like watching film from the 2025 matchup, calling it a "rough" watch. However, he added that the Longhorns are "excited" to get a second shot at the Buckeyes.
"I think we've all grown mentally and physically," he said.
Ohio State shut down Manning in last season's 14-7 loss, holding the Texas quarterback to 170 yards and a 56.7% completion rate. He was also intercepted and threw one touchdown, though it came in the closing minutes when Texas trailed 14-0.
Manning opened the 2026 season by completing 74.1% of his passes for 305 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in a 59-7 rout of Texas State. Meanwhile, Ohio State is coming off a 56-3 victory over Ball State.
The Longhorns host the Buckeyes on Saturday with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. ET.
