Texas' Sarkisian 'shocked' Michigan fans stormed field after narrow win

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian addressed the wild ending of Michigan's game against Western Michigan, saying he didn't expect Wolverines fans to storm the field after the unimpressive win.

"The thing that shocked me most was that they stormed the field. That was a surprise," Sarkisian said Monday, according to Fox.

Michigan entered the game as a 27.5-point favorite and had seemingly suffered a historic defeat at the Big House after an unsuccessful Hail Mary attempt as time expired. However, the officials added one second to the clock, and Bryce Underwood then found JJ Buchanan for a 47-yard touchdown that sealed a 13-12 win.

Despite Michigan's subpar performance, Wolverines fans ran onto the field after the miraculous play.

"Unfortunate for Western Michigan to play their tails off the way they did and to lose like that - I've lost a game that way before on a Hail Mary, and that definitely sucks," Sarkisian added.

Texas kicked off its season with a 59-7 win over Texas State. Sarkisian's Longhorns face Ohio State on Saturday in one of the most anticipated games of the year.
