Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine triggered a $49-million player option for the 2026-27 season, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

LaVine is now set to enter his second full season with Sacramento after joining the Kings in a February 2025 trade from the Chicago Bulls.

The 31-year-old averaged 19.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on 47.9% shooting in 39 games last season. LaVine's scoring average was his lowest since the 2017-18 campaign, and his assists per game marked a career low.

He required season-ending surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right hand, forcing him to miss Sacramento's final 29 games.

LaVine is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2027-28 campaign.
