Milwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras concluded an incredible postseason by winning World Series MVP.

Contreras is the eighth backstop to take home the Fall Classic honor, and the first since Salvador Perez in 2015. He slashed .381/.435/.429 with four RBIs over five games against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The 28-year-old also played great defensively behind the plate, successfully going 10-for-13 on ABS challenges en route to helping the Brewers win their first title in franchise history

Contreras' older brother, Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras, teared up after the final out.

"My brother's my best friend," the younger Contreras said postgame, according to Ronald Blum of The Associated Press.

Contreras hit .357 with a homer and three RBIs during an NLCS sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers after going deep twice in the NLDS versus the San Diego Padres.

Contreras enjoyed an incredible year. He helped lead Venezuela to its first World Baseball Classic title in March, earned his third All-Star appearance in July, and has now won his first World Series championship.

Contreras and teammates Jackson Chourio and Antonio Senzatela are the only Venezuelans to win a Fall Classic and WBC title.

"It means everything because that's the first time Venezuela guys win the WBC and the World Series," Contreras said. "It's history, history for my country. I love Venezuela. It's my country."
