Toronto Tempo rookie Kiki Rice has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 ankle sprain, the team announced Thursday.
Rice will be re-evaluated in the coming days, and a timeline for her return will be provided "at a later date."
Rice suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's defeat to the New York Liberty. The 5-foot-11 guard landed awkwardly after having her shot blocked by Liberty center Jonquel Jones and subsequently limped off the court.

Veteran guard Julie Allemand will likely take Rice's place in the starting lineup.
Toronto selected Rice with the No. 6 overall pick in this year's draft. The UCLA product has thrived since entering the starting lineup, averaging 14.9 points, six boards, 3.1 assists, and 1.4 steals across seven appearances.
Earlier this year, Rice helped the Bruins win their first national championship.
The Tempo (5-5) sit eighth in the league standings entering Thursday's play.
