Jon Rahm received a code of conduct warning late Friday after the Spaniard threw his club following a poor tee shot on the par-3 15th.
Rahm is no stranger to an eruption on the golf course, but Friday's episode was particularly noteworthy, especially in light of fellow LIV member Joaquin Niemann's recent incident at the U.S. Open.
Niemann was found in violation of Rule 1.2B for serious misconduct after he aggressively threw his club during the opening round at Shinnecock Hills, resulting in a two-stroke penalty after he finished.
Sergio Garcia, another LIV golfer, was also given a code of conduct warning at the Masters in April for smashing up a tee box following a poor drive.
However, Rahm seemed largely undeterred by Friday's penalty, firing a 3-under 67 to sit just four shots off the lead at 4-under.
