Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson will not face supplementary discipline after being assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding Florida Panthers forward Sandis Vilmanis in Saturday's win, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Wilson delivered the hit in the first period. Vilmanis left the game and didn't. The major was upheld after a review.

Panthers forward Brady Tkachuk scored on the ensuing power play.

Wilson had two goals, five points, and 30 penalty minutes in 14 games entering Saturday's contest.

The 32-year-old has a reputation for his physical play, but hasn't been suspended since March 2024. Wilson leads the NHL in penalty minutes since he entered the league in 2013 with 1,679 in 921 games, nearly 600 PIMs more than second in that span.

The longest suspension of Wilson's career was a 14-game ban in 2018 for an illegal check to the head of St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist. The suspension was reduced from 20 games upon appeal.

Vilmanis, a 22-year-old rookie, had three goals and seven points in 15 games entering Saturday.
