The Sudbury Wolves acquired 2026 third overall pick Tanner Adams from the Brampton Steelheads for a record package of 17 future draft picks, the OHL announced Friday.
As part of the deal, Sudbury is surrendering four picks each in 2027, 2028, and 2029, as well as three picks in 2030. Additionally, the Steelheads will receive the fifth overall selection and a second-rounder in next year's draft as compensatory picks.
Adams entered the 2026 OHL Priority Selection as the No. 1-ranked skater, but ended up going third to Brampton. The Wolves drafted two picks later and now have two of this year's top-five selections in their system.
A Porcupine, Ontario, native, Adams has long been set on leveraging a move to play for the Wolves to be closer to home, his agent told The Sudbury Star's Ben Leeson in June.
Adams, a 6-foot-1 center, racked up 88 points in 52 games for the Hill Academy's under-16 AAA team last season.
