The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed restricted free-agent defenseman Jamie Drysdale to a four-year deal with an average annual value of $6.5 million, the team announced Friday.

Drysdale was set to have an arbitration hearing Monday.

The contract makes him Philadelphia's highest-paid defenseman and fourth-highest-paid player overall for the 2026-27 season.

Drysdale matched a personal best with 32 points in 78 games last campaign while averaging a career-high 21:33 per contest.

The 24-year-old projects to play top-four minutes again next season, potentially quarterbacking Philadelphia's top power-play unit.

"We're excited to have Jamie remain a key part of our organization for years to come," Flyers general manager Daniel Briere said. "Since we acquired him, Jamie has worked extremely hard and taken big steps in his development and has established himself as a reliable piece on our back end with the ability to impact the game in all situations. We believe his best hockey is still ahead of him, and he's going to play an important role in strengthening our blue line as we continue to build."

The contract buys two of Drsydale's unrestricted free agency years and allows him to become a UFA at age 28.

The Flyers acquired the former sixth overall pick from the Anaheim Ducks in a January 2024 trade that sent Cutter Gauthier the other way. Gauthier had requested a trade out of Philadelphia.
