Canada blanked the United States 4-0 to advance to the semifinals at the IIHF World Championship on Thursday.

Columbus Blue Jackets netminder Jet Greaves made 34 saves for the shutout. He's now 6-0 with a .940 save percentage at the event.

Macklin Celebrini and Dylan Holloway found the back of the net before Connor Brown and Sidney Crosby padded Canada's lead with empty-netters.

Evan Bouchard took a high hit from Ryan Lindgren in the first period, which resulted in a major penalty. He didn't return to the game.

Canada will face either Finland or Sweden in the semis.

The U.S. won the tournament in 2025, ending a 92-year drought, while Canada lost in the quarterfinals against Denmark.

Matthew Tkachuk is the only player on the American roster who won Olympic gold in February. Canada has Crosby and Celebrini from its Olympic roster.
