The Los Angeles Chargers are signing wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad, a source told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Valdes-Scantling went through training camp with the Dallas Cowboys and appeared in all three of their preseason games before being cut at the end of August.
The Chargers' No. 1 receiver, Ladd McConkey, is uncertain to play in Week 2 after suffering a rib injury during Los Angeles' season-opening loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Last season, Valdes-Scantling recorded 14 catches for 120 yards and one touchdown over 10 games split between the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Valdes-Scantling has also suited up for the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and New Orleans Saints over his eight-year career.
