The New York Giants released veteran wide receiver Darius Slayton following seven campaigns with the organization, the team announced Monday.
A fifth-round pick in 2019, Slayton was the team's longest-tenured player. He ranks 12th in Giants history in receiving yards (4,435) and 14th in receptions (296).
The 29-year-old caught 37 passes for 538 yards and one touchdown in 14 games last season. It was his sixth season of at least 500 receiving yards. He also topped 700 receiving yards four times.
More than $9.7 million of Slayton's $12.25-million salary for 2026 was already guaranteed, according to Over the Cap. The Giants will take on nearly $16 million in dead cap over the next two seasons but free up $2.9 million of cap space this year and $10 million in 2027, per Spotrac.
The Giants are left with four wide receivers on the active roster: Malik Nabers, Darnell Mooney, Odell Beckham Jr., and rookie Malachi Fields.
