New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo won't change his aggressive play style despite suffering a season-ending ankle injury in 2025.

"It ain't gonna change who I am," Skattebo told NFL Network on Wednesday when asked if he'll adjust his game as a result of the ailment. "I had an injury. It is what it is. I've still got plenty of football left, plenty of life left. I'm not gonna let this little ankle thing bother me.

"I'm gonna get back (to) running people over like you see on the videos. It's gonna be normal Cam Skattebo from here on out."

The 24-year-old, who suffered a dislocated ankle in October, is targeting a Week 1 return. He recently participated in some 11-on-11 drills during minicamp, one week after drawing attention online for doing a backflip at Brian Burns' charity softball game.

During his rookie campaign, Skattebo took the league by storm with his hard-nosed rushing style. He finished the year with 410 rushing yards and seven total touchdowns in eight appearances. His breakout moment came against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, when he recorded 98 rushing yards and three scores.

Skattebo proved great at generating positive plays, as 50.4% of his touches resulted in gains of four-plus yards, ranking ninth among all running backs last season, according to TruMedia.

The Arizona State product is set to share a backfield with Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary again next season, but he'll do so under a new regime run by head coach John Harbaugh.

"Coach Harbaugh and (offensive coordinator Matt Nagy), I've felt nothing but support and love from them," Skattebo added. "They're always on me about getting back, and they're starting to see where I'm at in my process, and they're starting to trust it. They've been really good to me. I trust both of those two along with everybody else on the staff."

The Giants will kick off their 2026 campaign against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 13.
