Oregon opted for third-string quarterback Brock Thomas in the fourth quarter to try and lead a comeback versus UCLA after Dylan Raiola threw his second interception of the day.
Raiola - starting in place of injured Dante Moore - struggled against the Bruins, completing only six of his 19 pass attempts for 43 yards with the pair of picks.
Thomas did provide a spark off the bench, completing 11 of his 15 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown to bring the Ducks within two. However, the comeback would fall short when UCLA stopped a potential tying two-point conversion late in the fourth.
The entire Ducks offense was a mess Saturday, adding four lost fumbles to Raiola's interceptions. Those six turnovers kept the offense from sustained drives throughout with only 118 yards to show for their effort with 10 minutes left in the 4th. That caused Dan Lanning to make the move to Thomas to try and lead the comeback.
Dan Lanning said it's "probably a fair question" to ask why they didn't make a QB change earlier. Said he wants to find Raiola right after this press conference and tell him, "we didn't prepare him to be good enough today. We didn't put him in position to have success." #GoDucks

Moore missed the contest as he recovers from a concussion suffered in the win over USC. He returned to practice this week but was declared out for the contest.
The Ducks will certainly look to have him back under center next week when they host Nebraska.
