Washington Wizards center Alex Sarr underwent surgery on his fractured right foot Monday, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Sarr reportedly injured his foot last week on a contact play during an offseason workout.

The 21-year-old is expected to be healthy when the season begins, Charania reports.

Sarr averaged 16.3 points and 7.4 rebounds for the Wizards during his sophomore campaign.

The 2024 No. 2 pick is part of an improving young core in Washington that also includes Kyshawn George, Tre Johnson, Bub Carrington, and Will Riley.

The Wizards, who also possess the first pick in next week's NBA draft, traded for veteran stars Trae Young and Anthony Davis last season.
