Maxey back in lineup after missing 10 games with finger injury
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is available for Saturday's contest against the Charlotte Hornets after missing the last 10 games with a tendon injury in his right pinky finger, per team reporter Matt Murphy.
The two-time All-Star was reportedly set to miss at least three weeks but will return to the lineup ahead of schedule.
Maxey was in the midst of his best campaign prior to being sidelined. The Kentucky product is fourth in the NBA in scoring (29 points per game) and averaging a league-leading two steals.
The 76ers are scoring 5.8 more points per 100 possessions with Maxey on the floor.
Philadelphia went 6-4 during Maxey's absence, with Quentin Grimes filling his spot in the starting lineup.
The 76ers got Joel Embiid and Paul George back Wednesday. They enter Saturday's action a half-game back of the Atlanta Hawks for the Eastern Conference's sixth seed.
