Walker, who's already recorded a career-high 21 homers during a breakout season, will attempt to become the first Cardinal to win the marquee competition.
The 24-year-old is the latest player to join a field that already includes New York Yankees slugger Ben Rice, Tampa Bay Rays star Junior Caminero, Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras, and Kanas City Royals outfielder Jac Caglianone.
Contreras and Caglianone announced their involvement Wednesday.
Contreras, who's also going to the All-Star Game as a replacement, is attempting to become only the second player in Red Sox history to win the event. Hall of Famer David Ortiz was victorious in 2010 in Anaheim.
The 34-year-old has hit 20 rounder-trippers in 87 games this year amid a career campaign. Contreras' single-season high is 24, set in 2019 with the Chicago Cubs.
Caglianone will be the first Royal to take part since Bobby Witt Jr. finished as the runner-up during the 2024 event in Texas.
The 23-year-old slugger has 14 homers in 85 games this season. He sits in the 98th percentile for hard-hit percentage, 97th in bat speed, 96th in average exit velocity, and 92nd for barrel rate.
The Home Run Derby still has three spots remaining.
