The New York Mets should get a big piece of their lineup back later this month.
Star shortstop Francisco Lindor is expected to return from a calf strain in the third week of June, reports Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
Lindor has been out since April 22 after hurting his calf while rounding third base against the Minnesota Twins. The five-time All-Star didn't have an initial recovery timeline following the injury.
The 32-year-old has two homers with five RBIs and a .669 OPS over 24 contests this season.
The Mets have gone 20-26 without Lindor in the lineup.
New York (27-35) enters Friday's action in last place in the NL East.
