Defending champion Lando Norris won the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday for his second straight victory after claiming the Hungarian GP on July 23 before the summer break.
Norris is now the only non-Mercedes driver with multiple wins this season.
Current championship leader Kimi Antonelli crossed the line second, while his Mercedes teammate George Russell narrowly claimed the final podium spot over Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton.
Mercedes began the weekend well with Russell winning Saturday's sprint from pole position. Ultimately, McLaren seems to be turning its season around at the right time as it aims for a third straight constructors' championship.
Hamilton, Russell's former teammate, wound up fourth, while Charles Leclerc placed fifth in the other Ferrari. Norris' teammate, Oscar Piastri, finished sixth.
Antonelli still sits atop the drivers' standings. Russell and Hamilton are tied for second place, only 59 points back. Norris sits fourth, 83 points behind, while Leclerc is a mere four points back of him in fifth.
Dutch driver and four-time champion Max Verstappen crashed on the opening lap. He's won his home race three times previously and had a chance to tie the record for most Dutch GP victories in Zandvoort's farewell from the F1 calendar.
All-time Dutch GP wins
| Wins | Driver |
|---|---|
| 4 | Jim Clark |
| 3 | Max Verstappen / Niki Lauda / Jackie Stewart |
Liam Lawson, filling in for the injured Isack Hadjar with Red Bull, finished seventh.
Showing up after the summer break with upgrades, Aston Martin scored its second points finish of the season as Fernando Alonso picked up a pair and placed ninth. The constructor is still in 10th with three points, ahead of only Cadillac.
Audi's Nico Hulkenberg placed eighth, and Alpine's Pierre Gasly rounded out the points in 10th.
Next up is Monza on Sept. 6.
